Since 2014, Superfície has established itself within the Brazilian and international art scenes as a leading gallery, committed to contemporary artistic production and to researching key trajectories in Brazilian art.

Founded by Gustavo Nóbrega, the gallery has developed a program that brings together artists from different generations, creating dialogues between historical and contemporary practices. Superfície represents the estates of artists such as Sonia Andrade, Hermelindo Fiaminghi, Celeida Tostes, and Pedro Escosteguy, while also working closely with established artists such as José Resende and Luiz Alphonsus, as well as a new generation that includes Andréa Hygino, Marina Camargo, and Thiago Molon.

Based in Vila Madalena, São Paulo, Superfície works to represent its artists and place their work in significant public and private collections, while also fostering ongoing dialogues with museums, institutions, researchers, and curators. Through exhibitions, research, publications, and projects developed both within and beyond the gallery, Superfície seeks to broaden the circulation and critical understanding of the works and artistic trajectories at the core of its program.

This commitment to research and preservation extends to Arquivo Superfície, dedicated to gathering, organizing, and researching documents related to artists and significant episodes in Brazilian art, and to Superfície Publicações, the gallery’s publishing arm, which carries this work forward through books, catalogues, monographs, and other editorial projects.
